Minority groups are offered cash infusions to prop up parts of the community that have suffered some form of discrimination that caused economic disadvantages. You don’t have to belong to a disenfranchised community to receive this type of grant. If you can prove that discrimination lead to a negative impact on you economically, then you could be eligible.
Who exactly qualifies as a minority?
The first obvious answer is anyone who comes from particular ethnic backgrounds, including African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian. Anyone who suffers from a debilitating disease, such as cerebral palsy or Down syndrome, is a also prime candidate for this type of grant.
