2. TEACH Grants For College
Students who agree to teach in elementary and secondary school for a stipulated duration can benefit from TEACH grants. Teaching under the educational service agency pre-qualifies students for the grants. Applicants that aren’t teaching need to fulfill certain academic requirements to qualify. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or score in the 75th percentile on their college admission test. Finally, an applicant must be enrolled at a school that participates in the grant program.
Certainly, students hoping to enter into teaching will find the grant particularly motivating. Foreign language, mathematics, special education and science are some examples of high need fields. Students approved for the grant can expect up to $4,000 annually in school grants. The amount is reviewed annually and can change depending on an internal review.
